Nathania Tsosie is a Diné (Navajo) Health Planner and one of the co-founders for the Institute for Indigenous Knowledge and Development (IIKD) at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. Nathania holds a Master's degree in Community & Regional Planning (2011) and a Bachelor's in Anthropology (2003), both from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Her master's thesis is titled "Native Artists Youth Suicide in an Indigenous Community" which she completed (with distinction) at the UNM School of Architecture & Planning. As an advocate for Indigenous Planning, Nathania has been active in community health assessment since 2005. She was the project manager responsible for organizing the first Community Health Assessment (CHA) Workshop series, which engaged representatives from off-reservation communities, tribes, Pueblos and Nations across New Mexico and Arizona in developing unique and innovative planning strategies for CHA.
