On May 10, 2017, the Center for Native American Health hosted their 12th annual Health Sciences Graduation Recognition Ceremony at the Sheraton Uptown in Albuquerque. The ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of Native American graduates from UNM Health Sciences programs.

The 2017 graduating class included 22 students representing Native American tribes, pueblos, and nations from across the country! Among the tribes represented were the Choctaw Nation, Navajo Nation, Klamath Tribe, Pueblo of Isleta, Pueblo of Jemez, Pueblo of Santo Domingo, Pueblo of Zuni, and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

In total, 22 Native American students earned degrees from the School of Medicine, Medical Laboratory Sciences program, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, Physician Assistant program, Public Health program, and the Dental Hygiene program.

On behalf of the Center for Native American Health, we extend special thanks to all the friends, colleagues, and family members who joined us – in person and in spirit! We appreciate your ongoing support and partnership. To the graduates, congratulations on completing this part of your education and best wishes for a successful future! Thank you for allowing us to share this special occasion with you and your families. Go Lobos!
